TRAINING THE CEO OF THE BRAIN
ABOUT THE PROGRAM PROGRAM DETAILS

Training the CEO of the Brain is a comprehensive executive-function-training program for middle school students that focus on introducing learning tools that are based on Brain Based Research. Considering students entering middle school face notable shift in executive responsibilities this program tries to instill independence, organizational abilities and self-regulation skills are for academic progress and intellectual development. The program also takes into consideration how “doing the work” relies on interpreting less explicit instructional methods. In addition, this program is designed and is carefully crafted to tackle the complex parameters of self-analysis using systematic metacognitive approach. During the class the students will learn several subcomponents of executive function skills. Finally, the group as whole will have a unique opportunity to further these skills by taking ‘real-life’ examples of their individual academic challenges and improve their ability to remember to remember.


Candidates:               Elementary School Students

Participants:              4-5 Students per class

Program Timing:     Thursday, 4:30 - 6:30pm (may not be consecutive- see the calendar)

Home Work:            2-Hrs per week & Must be                               done!

Material:                 Will be provided

Snacks:                  Water and snacks will be                               provided to the students

Cost:                       $2,100 ($100/Hr.)

Parent Training:       TBA!


PROGRAM FOCUS

We will ameliorate each student’s critical thinking and reading skills using the following curriculum:

  • BRAIN BASED LEARNING:
    • Introduction to BRAIN BASED Learning
    • Understanding personal strengths and weaknesses   
  • DAILY PLANNING & TIME ESTIMATION:
    • Learning to work with the Planning Sheets using Planning Rules
    • Estimating Time
    • Creating Reminders for Rehearsals
  • INFERENTIAL SKILLS:
    • Working with following instructions
    • Figuring our salient vs. inferred details
    • Extrapolating from assignments
  • STUDY STRATEGIES:
    • Developing Study Routines
    • Implementing effective Test Taking Process
